“Remembering We’re Alive” wins national music award.
“Remembering We’re Alive” was commissioned by Bruce Koliha and composed by SRVC member and composer Martin Rokeach. The piece was performed in the SRVC 2025 Spring Concert as a world premiere. Sacramento State’s Festival of New American Music, which received more than 230 submissions in four categories, choose this piece as it’s only choral work to be featured in a performance November 2nd, 2025 at Sacramento State’s annual music festival. Congratulations Marty!

Handel Messiah Sing Along
Upcoming recital featuring a composition by SRVC member Marty Rokeach!
An upcoming concert of a wonderful opera singer from Paris will take place at the Steinway Piano Gallery at 1605 Bonanza Street in Walnut Creek on Saturday, October 25 at 5 P.M.
Renowned tenor Pablo Veguilla will perform arias by Monteverdi, Faure, Poulenc, Kurt Weill, and Bay Area composer Martin Rokeach.
He will be accompanied by pianist Lino Rivera, who will also perform some short works by Debussy.
Admission is free. A reception with wine and conversation with the artists follows. The concert will last about an hour, plenty of time for dinner afterward.
